RotaCare Board Member Jim Brady (center) recently accepted a $16,000 contribution from Anna Siranni, Director of Human Development and Msgr. James Swiader, Pastor, both of St. Joseph's Church in Garden City. The funds were raised by parishioners over the Lenten season, the six weeks between Ash Wednesday and Holy Thursday and will be used to support RotaCare's critical work of providing free health care to Long Islanders who are not covered by health insurance. RotaCare is entirely run by volunteers, and nearly one-quarter of those volunteers are members of St. Joseph's Church, so choosing RotaCare as the beneficiary for this year's campaign was a clear one.
