RotaCare held their annual Caregivers' Ball to raise money to further their goal of helping underserved people who do not have health insurance. The evening drew a crowd of supporters to The Inn in New Hyde Park to help the mission.

Two honorees were honored at the Ball: Fran Faustino and Tom Crowley, both of whom are big supporters of RotaCare.

Faustino practices the full scope of family medicine, excluding obstetrics and serves as medical director of the student-run free clinic WiSH and NYU Langone Hospital — Long Island Student Health, where they provide care to underserved populations across Long Island.

With a strong focus on preventive medicine, Faustino emphasizes lifestyle-based approaches to primary prevention and is committed to managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity, according to his staff page on the NYU Langone website.

Faustino sees patients at several NYU Langone locations, including Carle Place, Valley Stream, North Merrick, Glen Cove, and NYU Langone Hospital — Long Island. Their patient population spans all ages, from newborns to individuals over 100 years old.

Their professional interests include fostering the doctor–patient relationship, enhancing clinical skills, and teaching the full spectrum of family medicine and primary care to medical students, residents and geriatric fellows.

Crowley, a longtime member of the Hampton Bays Rotary Club District 7255, was Rotary District Governor for the 2023–2024 year. A Rotarian since 1987, Crowley has made Rotary a central part of his family’s life for more than three decades. His wife, Julie, and daughter, Anna, are also active members, according to the Rotary District 7255 website.

Professionally, Crowley is a partner and commercial sales executive with EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants. He is a past chair of the board of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York State and previously served on Governor David Paterson’s Coastal Insurance Task Force.

Crowley leads the Long Island Insurance Education Foundation, a nonprofit working to establish a four-year degree program in insurance and risk management at Stony Brook University.

The mission of RotaCare, based in Hempstead, is to facilitate free health care to those who have the most need and the least access to medical care. The money raised from the Ball helped support their mission of facilitating free health care for the relief of pain and suffering to those who have the most need and the least access to medical care.
